D. Parker Jr.John Dorsey “J.D.” Parker Jr., 74, died Saturday night (June 17, 2017) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities following an extended illness.He was a native of Whitakers, N.C., and he had made his home in Brantley County since 1977. He was the son of the late John Dorsey Parker Sr. and Gladys Bullock Parker. He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Amy Kristen Parker and Kimberly Dawn Parker, a son, Jon Cameron Parker Sr., and a sister, Faye Mills.He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, being stationed in Korea.He retired in 2003 as a boilermaker with CSX Railroad after 33 years of service and had trained numerous apprentices during his career. He was a former member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers.He loved fishing and woodworking and made numerous pieces of furniture. He loved spending time with his grandson.  He also had the talent of being able to make repairs to just about anything.He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.He and his wife, Hope Smith Parker, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month.Additional survivors include grandchildren, Jon “Cameron” Parker Jr., Trenton Thrift and Mallory Thrift, all of Waycross; daughter-in-law, Sherri Collins Parker, of Waycross; a sister, Mary Alice Farmer, of Rocky Mount, N.C.; three brothers, Bruce Parker (wife, Sandra), of Rocky Mount, N.C., Ferdie Parker and David Parker, both of Tarboro, N.C.; a special sister-in-law, Barbara Mayo, of Enfield, N.C.; nieces and nephews; and his faithful pet, Shadow.Memorials may be made to Hospice Satilla Hospice House, c/o Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, Ga. 31501.A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. LynnEuvee E. Lynn, 89, died Thursday morning (June 8, 2017) at Waycross Health and Rehab following an extended illness.He was a native of Coffee, in Bacon County, but had made his home in Waycross for most of his life.He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Peggy June Steedley Lynn, on April 23, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his parents Barney Lincoln Lynn and Mary Etta Moody Lynn, and a brother Lewis Alexander Lynn.He was a long-time and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, the Senior Men’s Sunday School class and had served on numerous church committees.He had served with the United States Army in Japan and was an avid fisherman, photographer, and loved woodworking, building cabinets and furniture.He retired as a machinist with the CSX Railroad after 43 years of service.Survivors include two sons, Ronny Lynn (wife Mary Ann), of Waycross, and Steven Lynn (wife Anitra), of Barney, four grandchildren, Ashley Strickland (husband Chris), of Jesup, Jamie Ray (husband Michael), of Waycross, Bryon Lynn (wife Tracy), of Thomasville, and Trevis Guy (wife Leslie), of Waverly, 13 grandchildren, a sister, Betty Lynn Bobbitt, of Redondo Beach, Calif., and nieces, nephews and other relatives.Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 1622 Gibbs St., Waycross, Ga. 31503.A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Father on March 20, 2017.  Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nobles Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at First Baptist Church in Navasota with the Revs. Malcolm Bane and Clyde Larrabee officiating.  Masonic graveside services will follow in Oakland Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel. Celebrating his life are his wife, Kathy Fultz; his children, Jon C. and YoLanda Fultz, Shawn and Lauren Stuart, Josh M. Fultz, Jennifer and Justin E. Jarvis and Shelbie and Jeb Kolby. Poppy was loved by his grandchildren, Elizabeth Cobb and Jackson Fultz, Lorin, Korbin, Lawson and Sutton Stuart, Jadyn Fultz, and Cade, Owen, and Charis Kolby. Loving family members also include his only sister, Bonnie, and brother-in-law, Court Armstrong, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends. John was pre-deceased by his father, Joseph Donald Fultz; his brother, Joe King Fultz Sr.; his stepfather, Norman Davis; and mother, Artie Fultz Davis. John graduated from Navasota High School as salutatorian in 1968, and from the University of Texas at Austin in 1972. He attended South Texas College of Law and graduated in 1977 while working for the Veteran's Land Board. In 1978, John returned home to Navasota to join in the practice of law with his mother and stepfather at Fultz & Davis Attorneys at Law. In 1984, he began working for Mid-South Electric Cooperative Association following in the footsteps of his parents. He was proud to continue his parents' legacy as the only counsel for Mid-South within their 76 year history. An avid supporter of many organizations, John was a member of the Masonic Navasota Lodge #299, and Washington Lodge #18, St. Alban's Lodge #1455, Scottish Rite Lodge, Shriner's, Kiwanas, Boy Scouts, Little League, River Rats, Ducks Unlimited, Navasota Theater Alliance, Pink Flamingos, Grimes County Bar Association, Fellow of the Texas Bar Association, Todd Mission City Attorney, Navasota City Attorney ...
